A Data Scientist with a love for the outdoors.
Growing up in Minnesota, I spent a great deal of my childhood summer nights gazing up at the stars and thinking about space and cosmology. I read books like “A Brief History of Time” by Steven Hawking and “The Elegant Universe” by Brian Greene. My high school math teacher engaged me on these topics and encouraged me to pursue physics in college. So I did.
Fast forward four years. I graduated from the University of Minnesota – Morris with bachelor degrees in physics and mathematics. During those wonderful years on the prairie, my interests took a slight turn and focused more on energy and sustainable energy systems. I went on to pursue a master’s degree in energy systems engineering from Lehigh University.
Since then, I’ve spent the past six years performing various flavors of statistical analysis and machine learning on a wide variety of pressing challenges in the energy industry. It’s been a wonderful journey so far and I’m excited for what’s to come. I created this website and blog to document in more detail how I’ve become a Data Scientist, general data science musings, and to share the side projects I work on. Feel free to connect with me on Linkedin.
